There are two things in life that are constant – time and change. It is true. We live in change every day. Whether it is change in our lives or change in time, we live in these constants daily. Yesterday marked a change in history that will forever be remembered. Our 44Th President was sworn into office yesterday (twice actually) amid a crowd of more than 1.5 million people, the largest ever to witness a Presidential Inauguration at Capital Hill. Surprisingly enough, that was not the only piece of history that was written yesterday. January 20th, 2009 marked the day that America saw it’s first Black President take office. President Barack Obama took his oath and delivered an inspiring yet powerful Inaugural Address.
If you’re like me, you appreciate a great tool that also looks good. If it’s not user friendly then I will probably look past it. I don’t like buying things just because it’s new or because everybody else has bought it either. It has to do what I need it to do when I need it done and not after completing the 7 steps of a lengthy install.
I have used Windows Operating systems since high school. As a Graphic Designer, the Mac OS is much more stable and does not get hampered down when running more than one massive program at a time like Photoshop and Final Cut. The only issue I have with the Mac OS is that the software out there that one might need to run is only available in PC format so for sake of productivity, I have to have a Mac AND a PC to get ALL the jobs done. I’m all about compromise up until the point where I start to get frustrated, then it’s all back to “what can this do for me that that can’t?” The solution to that is if you can’t beat either one, get them both! The only thing missing was all the bells and whistles in the Mac OS was absent in Windows XP Media Center even though Microsoft made a valiant effort they fell way short. So Vista was to be the Savior of all Windows OS’s… not so fast my friend!
In today’s economic times events like this are no surprise. I read about bank robberies almost daily now. This one however, caught my attention because I used to live in Temple Terrace and I remember very clearly where this bank is located – DIRECTLY across the street from Temple Terrace City Hall AND get this – the TEMPLE TERRACE POLICE STATION!
For those of you that are new to this blog, I must warn you that every post will not be serious business. This post, for example, is about a web site I stumbled across during a extended browse of the internet the other day. This web site catalogs images of headset-wearing customer support representatives on corporate web sites! Read more →
In a time when we embark on having the First Black President inaugurated, it’s news like this that brings us back to reality. They say “Racism” is no longer an issue in today’s society… I would ask those that think that “where do you live?” Read more →
I’m a thinker by nature I suppose. I always used to stare out of my window while riding the school bus (no, it wasnt’s a ‘short’ bus) and try to name all the cars by looking at them. In my ‘study’ I always came across one thing that I could never figure out, “why is it that police cars aren’t ‘special’ like ambulances, firetrucks and postal carriers are?” Read more →
I have been following this story closely since it broke in early July 2008. I became a father on July 22nd and it is sickening to think that anyone could do this to any child, let alone their OWN child – and the child’s own mother at that! Read more →
