If you’re like me, you appreciate a great tool that also looks good. If it’s not user friendly then I will probably look past it. I don’t like buying things just because it’s new or because everybody else has bought it either. It has to do what I need it to do when I need it done and not after completing the 7 steps of a lengthy install.

I have used Windows Operating systems since high school. As a Graphic Designer, the Mac OS is much more stable and does not get hampered down when running more than one massive program at a time like Photoshop and Final Cut. The only issue I have with the Mac OS is that the software out there that one might need to run is only available in PC format so for sake of productivity, I have to have a Mac AND a PC to get ALL the jobs done. I’m all about compromise up until the point where I start to get frustrated, then it’s all back to “what can this do for me that that can’t?” The solution to that is if you can’t beat either one, get them both! The only thing missing was all the bells and whistles in the Mac OS was absent in Windows XP Media Center even though Microsoft made a valiant effort they fell way short. So Vista was to be the Savior of all Windows OS’s… not so fast my friend!

When Vista hit the scene I was already well aware of it’s inadequacies from using the Beta version for over a month. I couldn’t perform any of my day-to-day routines in Vista! It was a system hog, it wasn’t compatible with ANYTHING I plugged up to it and it was a pop-up nightmare!

Are you sure you want to run this program? Are you sure that’s the color background you want? Are you sure that you want to install this program that is going to make your system run slower than the line at the DMV?

Don’t get me wrong, Microsoft’s intentions were good but they should have let some of the hardware manufacturer’s in on their little Vista project during the development stages so that their was a little bit more compatibility when it hit the shelves. I would say they learned their lesson. Windows 7 is THE ultimate replacement for Windows XP. Trust me when I say that it will be worth EVERY PENNY – even if you aren’t accustomed to paying for anything ) If you haven’t checked it out yet here is a glimpse of Windows 7 in action.

I downloaded and have been using the Beta Version of Windows 7 since it’s availability was announced at the 2009 CES in Las Vegas. I will definitely be upgrading when this hits the shelf because Microsoft actually took their time developing Windows 7. They are finally listening… If you have Windows 7 Beta installed and are running it like I am, share your experiences here and help spread the good word. Windows 7 is BETTER than Vista, in my opinion, because it is actually functional! If you haven’t downloaded it yet you were probably one of the people that got to Microsoft.com a little late – they had no idea they would get the response they did and their servers couldn’t handle the traffic! They are back up and running now so get over there and download Windows 7 and test it for yourself!
